Cake Buffet

Easier than making tiers, huh? Eliminates need to choose just one yummy cake recipe. Lots of pretty cheap cake stands on Ebay too. Hmmm. . .

I love the look of multiple cakes. I think we might do something similar with a dessert bar.

Have you considered cupcakes? They are very in now and Martha is all over them. Can be presented on a tiered stand and you could do different flavors easily, spell things out with them, have them be colorful, etc. :)
